Go Sober for October

Two years ago my Nan died.  In her last days of life she was cared for by Macmillan nurses.  With their support her last days and hours of life were comfortable and dignified.  Going Sober for October will raise funds to make sure that Macmillan can continue to do their excellent work and will allow me in some small way to say thank you for what they did for my Nan.

So here I am.  The 1st October and the start of 31 hangover free days of staying sober.  So far so good.  I have no shakes, shivers, cold sweats or nervous tremors.  Let’s see how the next 4 weeks develop.

According to www.gosober.org.uk, I will be able to look forward to the following benefits of being 31 days sober.

  • Increased energy levels, higher productivity
  • Clearer head
  • No more hangovers
  • Sleeping better / snoring less
  • Weight loss
  • Clearer skin
  • Healthier bank balance / Save money
  • Sense of achievement
  • Fresh approach to alcohol consumption
  • Generally feel healthier
  • Doing something positive for a good cause

Sounds great doesn’t it!  Sign-up and give it a go.  Alternatively, if you like those hangovers, make a donation instead and sponsor me 🙂
